Dealing with Strong Emotions, this 3-hour course focuses on responding safely and effectively to job relation conflict resulting from emotions by the use of de-escalation tactics. De-escalation is aimed at calmly communicating with agitated people inorder to understand, manage, and resolve their concerns. It has been called a true art form, but it's also important to remember you may not be able to control someone else's behavior, but you can control how you react.

While it is easy to learn the core concepts of surveys, focus groups and evaluation, rarely do we know how to conduct these efforts efficiently nor do we use this data to meaningfully communicate in an effective and impactful way. Through lecture and hands on learning, participants will be able to understand better ways to collect data through surveys, focus groups and using secondary datasets as well as discover ways to share that data for various communication purposes.

Microsoft PowerPoint is powerful presentation program that allows you to combine text, graphics and multi-media content to create professional presentations. This course is designed to give users a good introduction to the basic concepts of PowerPoint. Using a computer lab setting, course participants will have the opportunity to work in PowerPoint alongside the instructor to explore and practice gained knowledge and skills (and some handy tricks) to work with various templates; walkthrough the ribbon functions; learn formatting; insert animations and transitions; add graphics and media; organize the presentation flow with sections breaks; and much more. All online course sessions require access to MS Office.
